Mahoe/Whiteywood
$4.00
Mahoe/Whiteywood (Melyctus Ramiflorus) is a very common small tree with attractive foliage and a whitish bark. Pointed oval leaves are white green and with fresh growth being quite soft and an even brighter green. The bark is greyish white and becomes attractively mottled with lichens. Flowers in spring followed by numerous purple black berries. Whiteywood can be clipped for hedging or used as a shelter tree or filler, and will also make quite an attractive specimen. Suitable for revegetation projects, particularly in areas of disturbed soil. Its early appearance in regenerating forests indicates that it is ideal for revegetation plantings.
