Kiokio Fern - Parablechnum novae-zelandiae

Kio Kio is a hardy, fast-growing native fern that adds lush texture and movement to gardens and restoration sites. Its long, arching green fronds create a soft, natural look, while distinctive upright brown fertile fronds appear seasonally, adding unique visual interest.

Naturally found along forest edges, stream banks and open shrubland, kio kio thrives in full sun to part shade and tolerates wind and coastal conditions. It performs well in well-drained to moderately moist soils and is excellent for underplanting, erosion control and creating shelter for wildlife.
